Gluten-Free Chocolate Nut Brownies

Makes:16 squares.
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 25 – 30minutes

I love brownies so much and these are the most indulgent gluten-free chocolate brownies ever. They are a real treat, perfect for any time of day and for any occasion. Whether they are fresh out of the oven or served cold with a cup of tea, they are just delicious.

You can serve brownies for pudding with raspberries and cream or you can even make them for a party. The truth is most people love a piece of homemade chocolate brownie and this recipe will not disappoint you.

They are very easy and quick to make, ready in less than 30 minutes. Brownies are supposed to be moist and gooey in the middle but crisp on the outside.

There are also many variations; you can either use dark, milk or white chocolate, nuts of your choice, fruit like bitter cherries or just good old plain chocolate brownies.

You can change the recipe to your liking and still get great results. This is what makes chocolate brownies very appealing.

A lovely chocolate aroma will fill your kitchen as they cook, whetting your appetite as you wait out the 25-30 minutes of cooking time.

They are worth it. I really recommend you try this recipe.

Ingredients for Your Gluten free Chocolate Brownies

  • 200g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 175g unsalted butter
  • 225g light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 50g Banana flour
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 75 pistachios (or other nuts of your choice or replace with sour cherries)
  • Zest of 1 orange (optional)

How to Make Chocolate Brownies

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C, gas mark and line a 20 x 26 baking tin with parchment paper
  2. Put the pieces of chocolate and butter into a heatproof bowl and melt over a pan of boiling water making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water. Once melted set aside to cool a little
  3. Whisk the eggs, sugar and orange zest together until well mixed and then add this to the melted chocolate.
  4. Next sieve the flour and cocoa powder and fold this into the chocolate mixture gently
  5. Finally add the nuts and pour the mixture into the prepared tin.
  6. Bake in the centre of the oven for 25-30 minutes until just set.
  7. Leave it to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, if you can wait that long and then divide into squares and enjoy!

Any leftover chocolate brownies will keep nicely in an airtight container. Or wrap in foil and freeze.
